Configuration

The configuration of the Nav application in accordance with modules in use and
licence acquired. This will includes ledger and sub ledger links.
 
This consists of a base Nav configuration to cover all common aspects of the
application. This will typically include, for example, the creation of the chart of
accounts, posting groups (VAT, General and sub ledger), currencies,
payment methods and payment terms. This also includes the identification of the
base currency for the business.

 
Next will be the configuration of sub ledgers and their links to key control accounts
on the chart of accounts. This presumes that, for example, all sales and receivable
transactions will be managed in the sales and receivables module. Therefore, a user
will not be able to post journals, for example, direct to trade debtors.

 
This process is repeated for each module required

Developments

Are you manually inputting data from a legacy system into Navision?

We can develop utilities to load in data from legacy systems - either as and when required or at regular intervals.
Fed up with ever increasing postage costs? No matter which version of Navision you are using, why not email pdfs to customers (invoices, statements) and vendors (remittance advices)?

Reports

Dynamics Nav is only provided with base line standard reports. This include Trial
balance reports in the GL module (including comparison to last year, budget and
previous month), aged debt and aged creditor.

From Dynamics Nav version 5 onwards, export to excel is provided as functionality in the budgetting module. But it is not added to many of the standrad reports.

These are just examples of what you may find is not available from the standard
off the shelf Nav product. There are a lot of reports provided but these may not
meet you needs.

 
So how can FPC help?

In 2 ways:
Super user training
We provide a 2 day super user course (for up to 3 super users) to train your staff to
write reports in Nav. This course includes the provision of training material (on memory sticks, step by step process instructions supported by screen dumps) and is interactive. User access to a test database will be required. Off site or on site as required. The course costs £600 (plus vat) per day for up to 3 trainees (that is £200 per person per day) plus a one off cost of £500 for the training material.

Report development
We can develop the reports against a user spec. You provide the specification of
what is required (this will depend on the report type), we confirm a quote and then
complete the development against the specification and quote.

For document type reports, the user specification will include the document layout.
For tabular type reports, the user specification will include column headings required
and any totalling required.The user spec for both types of reports will include a note of any filtering required.

Our quotes are fixed price. You will NOT be charged any more than quoted. Equally any change to the original specification will be escalated to you.

All report developments completed will be supported by step by step instructions
(including screen dumps) on how to use the new report.

Our only requirements to completed this type of development are:
Completion of our change request forms. We will complete this based in information
supplied by you).
A copy of the live database (this will be used for completing the report development).
Access to your live or test database (this will enable us to complete a back up of live
and load in the completed report to test and live).

Typically a report will be a 1 day development. Our prices start at £550 (plus VAT) per day but will be reduced to around £400 for bulk day orders in excess of 5 days.

Reports completed by FPC for clients have included:
Daily sales snapshots
Simple stock report
Historic GRNI (not time dependent so you can run this for any period and any time)
Receipts aged by debt settled.
Export to excel option added to some standard reports.

Other developments

Developments are only required where either the Navision configuration does not
meet user needs or Nav is one of a number of systems to be used in the client’s end
to end process. So for example there may be a need to feed data from legacy business operating systems to Nav.


Again the process for completing the development will include a confirmation of a user requirements specification but it will also include confirmation of the process required as well. This will allow us to use existing functionality in Nav as much as possible.
