Summary
Manage a project to ensure delivered to specification, on time and in budget.
This may include the full project process (planning, process map, requirements spec,
gap analysis, solution and implementation), fix a project failing to deliver or provide
specific services for particular stages of a project.
(planning phase) will include:
A published plan for completion of the project. This will identify timescales, resources
and a logical sequence of actions. This plan will be created by the project manager
and published after approval by the stakeholders or project steering committee.
Regular (weekly) communications reporting progress against the plan and issues for
discussion and resolution.
One person who manages the whole project from start to finish. This represents
a single point of contact for all staff working within or affected by the project.
This also allows the project to be managed by a person whose day job is exclusively
dedicated to the project’s successful completion.
Project planning (creation and publication of plan, sign off by all parties affected).
Process map (map existing process and systems including IT infrastructure as required).
Requirements analysis (based on what is required not what has been provided in the past).
Gap analysis (requirements versus existing, process and system).
Solution agreement (solution based on results of gap analysis)
IT infrastructure enhancements (for roll out of solution)
Nav licence and module purchase (based on modules needed for requirements)
Nav installation and roll out.
Nav configuration (based on modules needed for requirements)
Nav developments (based on system gap analysis).
Nav training (based in requirements)
Data migration (based on modules in use, master files and transactions).

Confucius says
All that is required for completion of a project ‘to spec, on time and to budget’ is the 3 corner stones of project management - resource, budget and time! Compromising on 1 has an impact on the remaining factors. For example, if the project needs to be completed quickly, this will incur additional resource requirements and cost more!![]() Member of Bingham Business Club www.binghambusinessclub.org.uk | ![]() Gained the full EMDA Quality Assured Standard on 16th November 2007! |
